San Francisco Activities

San Francisco is a city where you will not get bored, there are always a surprising number of things to do in San Francisco, which include outdoor activities, festivals and celebrations held throughout the year

There's different festivals held practically every weekend, early February is celebrated the Chinese New Year Festival & Parade; in February the San Francisco Orchid Society organizes the Pacific Orchid Exposition.

The International Asian Film Festival is the largest exhibition of Asian and Asian-American films in the United States; a few months later is celebrated the Cherry Blossom Festival; in April, the San Francisco International Film festival screens films from more than 50 countries in the city's theatres; the Bay to Breakers is largest footrace in the world, it is held on the third Sunday each May

During the summer the Mission hosts the Mission Carnival; Haight-Ashbury Street Fair is held on the second Sunday of June each year; the Gay Pride Parade is held every June; the Filmore Street Jazz Festival takes place in July with jazz performances with more than 300 artists; the Ghirardelli Square Chocolate Festival takes place around the second week of September; San Francisco Fringe Theater Festival held in September allows innovation, experimentation, and performance; the Folsom Street Fair is a BDSM street fair held on the last Sunday in September.

Among the San Francisco sights you want to visit, make sure that you have in your list attractions such as: The Fisherman's Wharf, the Coit Tower, Muir Woods, cable car rides, The Exploratorium, Lombard Street, Chinatown, Alcatraz Island, Alamo Square, the Pier 39, Golden Gate Park, the Presidio, the Mission Dolores, the Sausalito and the Union Square. The Golden Gate Bridge is undoubtedly the west coast's most famous landmark.

In addition to the festivals and sights, San Francisco is blessed with exceptional natural surroundings, you can rent a rowboat on Stow Lake and when the fog evaporates and the wind dies down you can visit one of the beaches of the Bay, San Francisco has beautiful golf courses. One of the most enjoyable activities among all San Francisco offers is walking the roads down and up the city.
